The incident took place on Tuesday in Matuwi 2 Village under Traditional Authority Mponda in Mangochi.

On Tuesday evening, the suspect prepared soya pieces relish and left it in the house, intending to serve it for supper later. Upon returning, she discovered that Davie had eaten all the relish. Furiously, she reportedly wrapped his hands in plastic and set him on fire.

Meanwhile, the police are continuing their search for the mother, who has also abandoned her other children.
Once found, Davie’s mother will face charges of acts intended to cause grievous harm, which violates Section 235 of the Penal Code.
The police are appealing to the public for any information that could lead to the suspect’s arrest.
