POLICE CHALLENGE CHIEFS IN CRIME COMBAT

Kawale Police Station through its lower formation of Area 24 Police unit on June 25, 2022 challenged chiefs in Ngwenya to join law enforcers in the fight against crime.

Speaking during the meeting held at parameters of Ngwenya primary school, Supritendent Chrispine Dzintambira urged chiefs in the area to buy the concept of community policing and crime prevention panels done by chiefs in Kawale 1 and Biwi locations.

In his opening remarks the station officer (S/O) Supritendent Dzintambira shared his past experiences of the previous neighborhood teams that were vibrant and further assured the gathering that it is possible to bring back the lost glory.

The Regional Executive Chair (REC) Dr Alex Chapondela tasked chiefs to have teams in a time frame of one week while the presence of Station executive chair (SEC) Chiutira Subiri was a blessing to the gathering as he narrated his experience on how to make the concept work.

Furthermore chiefs were advised to take a leading role and be patrons of neighborhood teams.

Also present on the meeting was Councilor Gift Tanganyika of Ngwenya ward who was grateful for the meeting citing that it has come at the right time.

He further condemned the tendancy of chiefs shielding their boys who are involved in criminality.
