Police, Bar owners join forces to curb crime in Kawale.

Police in Kawale have come up to a mutual agreement with bar owners to curb crime through enhanced community-police relationships.

Both parties have agreed to organise a pool tournament in the next few days to be hosted within Kawale to set as a platform for police to share security tips

Speaking during the meeting, Kawale Officer In Charge, Mr Davie Chilalire, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) cited the need for active inclusion of bar owners in crime fight.

Bars are patronised by people with different motives, some customers come for enjoyment while others come to remove stress, and again, some use drinking points as meeting places before they embark on crime commision, said Chilalire.

The OC noted that some crimes happen under the watch of bar owners, like selling beer to children under the age of eighteen and employing them to sell beer.

Chilalire stressed the need to consider the fate of any child in as far as beer drinking is concerned, take that under aged customer as your biological child.

Winding up his speech, Mr. Davie Chilalire promised effective communication through police hotline that will enhance the just-in time service delivery

Representing the bar owners, Mr Gerald Phiri expressed profound gratitude to the OC for the initiative as it will help in bringing sanity and further promised their total support
