NICO Group has thrown its support behind the Netball Association of Malawi (NAM) for its continued work in discovering and developing the country’s next generation of netball stars.
The organisation says NAM’s National Talent Scouting Programme is playing a key role in creating opportunities for young female athletes while strengthening Malawi’s netball development pathway.
NICO Group Corporate Affairs Manager Mbumba Mlia-Ndasauka said the company was delighted to be part of a programme that is giving talented young women a platform to grow through sport.
She said the initiative is not only about identifying talent but also preparing athletes for future success, leadership and greater opportunities on the national stage.
The nationwide scouting exercise has so far produced 40 players, who have earned places in NAM’s High-Performance Development Programme.

The selected players will undergo structured training and development through NAM’s Long-Term Player Development Programme, designed to build their technical ability, discipline and competitive experience.
The initiative marks another significant step in NAM’s efforts to establish a strong talent pipeline capable of producing elite netball players for Malawi.
For NICO Group, the partnership further demonstrates its commitment to using sport to promote youth empowerment, talent development and national unity.
