Everything is set for the Netball League National Finals scheduled for October 27th in Lilongwe at Don Bosco Courts.
In an interview with the Avant Sports Desk, the General Secretary of the Netball Association of Malawi (NAM), Isaac Chimwale, expressed his assurance that sports spectators should come in large numbers to support the event at Don Bosco Courts. He also conveyed NAM’s delight in the way the league has been handled at the district and regional levels.
Chimwala revealed the prize distribution for the competition: the champions will receive K2 million, runners-up will pocket K1,750,000, the third-place team will get K1.5 million, and the fourth-place team will receive K1 million. Teams from positions five to twelve will each be awarded K500,000.
In addition to team awards, there will be individual recognitions. The Player of the Tournament will be awarded K35,000, the Best Defender will receive K25,000, the Best Shooter will also get K25,000, and Emperors will be awarded K20,000.
The Salima Sugar Netball National League, sponsored by Salima Sugar Company with K40 million in sponsorship, commenced at the district level and has now reached the national finals. This prestigious event will feature 12 highly competitive netball teams battling for the championship. These teams include Blue Eagles Sisters, Civil Nets, Mafco Sisters, Young Eagles, First Choice Tigresses, Imosys Sisters, Tremors, Prison Sisters, Air Force Sisters, Ekwendeni Resource Netball Team, and Karonga Queens. It promises to be an exciting and action-packed tournament.
