Officials for the cultural grouping Mulhako Wa Alhomwe have announced that their annual cultural festival will this year be held on October 10 at Chonde in Mulanje District.

The festival was not held last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Briefing the media in Blantyre, chief executive officer for Mulhako Wa Alhomwe Pius Mvenya, says the council of chiefs and board of trustees including members of the Mulhako Wa Alhomwe secretariat recently met where they resolved to hold the festival this year since restrictions of the Covid-19 pandemic are gradually being eased.

He says they are confident that by October, they will be able to hold the festival.

Mvenya said preparations have so far started with contributions being made and that as part of resource mobilisation, they will hold numerous performances from Skeffa Chimoto, Black Missionaries, Dan Lufani and Tay Grin, among others including a gospel performance at Chonde.
