Kawale Station Officer Senior Superintendent Goodwin Chigalu Sambo challenged chiefs and block leaders in Kawale to join police in creating Kawale policing crime free from thugs by revamping the neighborhood watches.
The call was made on Tuesday October 26,2021 in a meeting that was attended by over fourty (40) chiefs and block leaders aimed at welcoming the station officer in their area.
During the meeting the station officer highlighted the efforts made by Police in the area and further narrated much on initiatives to be used in fighting crime .
Among the tips shared were ‘Know your neighbour’ concept, where chiefs were encouraged to know their subordinates and encourage residents to know their neighbours , information giving ,difilement and rape.
Above all the initiative to have neighborhood watches was stressed with much emphasis,as one way in the combat of crime at it’s glassroots, all chiefs were encouraged to have neighborhood teams in their respective areas .
“The fight against crime is incomplete if we exclude you chiefs , let’s join hands in making Kawale policing area hell for criminals,” Sambo said.
He further warned chiefs against the tendancy of settling down serious cases such as defilement and rape.
Speaking earlier was the regional executive chairperson Dr Alex Chapondera ,who charged the chiefs to have neighborhood teams in their areas .
“If we are to create Kawale area free from criminals let’s join the police in the fight against crime, let’s have neighborhood watches the soonest,” Chapondera said.
