Kawale Police rescue suspected criminal from angry villagers.


Police in Kawale rescued a teenager from being set ablaze by angry villagers who bayed for his blood over theft accusation.

He has been identified as Dunken Kapyepye 19, from Kambalame Village in Dedza

The survivor, Dunken Kapyepye, on September 13 this year stole beddings in Area 23 Midland and was seen by a certain woman.

The following day, on Saturday, September 14th, was spotted by residents who descended on him. Though he made efforts to cool the anger by returning the stolen goods, the villager still bayed for his blood.

After receiving the report, Kawale Rapid Response Team, rushed to the scene only to find the suspect imensed in used oil ready to be set ablaze.

Meanwhile, Dunken is in police custody and he will appear before court to answer theft charges.

Police wishes to inform the public to desist from taking the law in their hands but rather allow the law to take its course.
