Kawale Police recover K18.5 million, hunts for the suspect.

Kawale Police have recovered K18.5 million, cash that got stolen and intensified investigations to apprehend the suspect, Justin Makwecha for allegedly breaking into a building and committing a felony therein, in which cash amounting to K23.9 million got stolen.

The incident occurred during the night of May 30, 2026 at Madina Investment belonging to Mr Kaleen Ullah, a Pakistan national plying business in Mchesi.

It is on record that on May 29, this year, Mr Kaleen Ullah knocked off at 20:45 hours due to the offloading of new stock.And this made it impossible to bank the sales of that day, hence kept in the shop.

Sadly, the next day, the shop owner discovered that money amounting to K23.9 million had been stolen from the cofers, this prompted him to sought police help.

Following up the case Kawale detectives got a clue of the author of the case to be one of the shop attendant Justin Makwecha as spotted on Close Circuit cameras footage.

Police positively located the suspect’s house, swiftly searched within the compound and have since recovered K18.5 million Cash but did not find suspect.

Meanwhile investigations are at an advanced stage to arrest him and recover the remaining cash.

Once arrested, Justin Makwecha (full particulars not yet advised) will answer the charge of breaking into a building and committing a felony therein.
