A female Police Officer, Inspector Gladys Chimwanza Kanyangalazi based at Kawale Police Station has on December 9,2024 revived the spirits of learners at Thandwe Junior Primary School with message of hope, and shared the burden with her own funds.
Inspector Kanyangalazi, took advantage of her stay at the school during Malawi Electoral Commission registration exercise where she is providing security detail.
Said Gladys Kanyangalazi, “Many learners here in a typical village set-up they don’t put much efforts on Education which derail their performance and end up into early marriages”.
She attributed this to several factors that includes lack of role models and basic needs like school uniforms and writing materials

She therefore encouraged the learners not to allow challenges to stop them from actualizing their dream, work hard and become productive citizen in the near future rather than being involved in early marriages, being a female police officer it was a plus.
After sharing various tips , Inspector Gladys Chimwanza Kanyangalazi donated school uniforms and shoes to eleven (11) needy students and out of the said number 4 are orphans.
The school headteacher, Failos Stewart expressed his profound gratitude for the out reach, through Inspector Gladys Kanyangalazi that the school had since it’s inception.
In his Speech, he noted that the school is in a hard to reach area which makes it difficult for law enforcers to visit and share such messages that brings hope to learners in rular areas.
“Today, learners have been encouraged specifically girls, after seeing a police woman interacting with them” Said Failos Stewart.
He therefore encouraged the officer to continue with the good gesture and reach to other needy students
