Kawale Police impulse Mchesi traders to enhance security during demos 

Police in Kawale have urged rice traders, shop and warehouse landlords to enhance security during and after the demonstrations which have been scheduled to take place on Thursday July 28, 2022 in Lilongwe.

The call was made on July 27, 2022 at Mchesi business hub as one way of curbing the tendency by some criminals who take advantage of the demonstrations to steal from business personnel.

The meeting was convened following a similar encounter with Biwi landlords that took place on July 23, 2022. 

Speaking during the meeting, the Station’s Community Policing Coordinator, Inspector Mayeso Chikadza advised business people to tighten security and also guarding their shops even if it will be closed.

“Don’t leave your shops unattended this time, guard all road networks that lead to Mchesi during the entire demonstrations”, Chikadza said. 

She further advised traders to work hand in hand with the police in preventing theft and vandalism.

The business personnel commended the police and further promised to ensure that no looter takes advantage to reap off their businesses in the name of demos. 

Chikadza and team also visited all fueling points, supermarkets and ware houses within it’s jurisdiction and shared preventive security measures.
