Kawale Police Station jive with security tips meant for a crime free festive season.
Cementing on concepts set as a weapon to combat crime during the festive season, on Friday, December 24, 2021 the station had a road show that took them into all trading centres of Area 24, ZBS, Ngwenya, Chilinde Chiuzila and Malisero with awareness messages.
In all these places, residents and business persons have been warned against laxity on safety and security to deny chances to criminals to reap where they did not sow.
Lead speaker, Inspector Thoko Mkwezalamba, Community Policing Coordinator for the Station challenged residents to take a leading role and join Police as it pushes for a crime free Kawale during festive season and beyond.
“Security begins with you. Home should be well secured to avoid breaking offences. Leave behind a responsible and mature person to look after the home when others are out, either for evening prayers or entertainment. “Said Mkwezalamba.
Sharing road safety tips, Traffic Sub Inspector Christopher Labanna highlighted various road safety tips including a warning on drink and drive to motorist.
“Never turn these cerebrations into a death trap, never put your life at risk by driving a car while drunk” Labanna emphasized.
The Station has enhanced patrols, sweeping exercise, ad-hoc road blocks and sensitisation meetings with the aim of stumping out criminal activities in its area of jurisdiction in the festive season and beyond..
