Kawale Police bang heads with Chiefs on security

Kawale Police Station through its Community Policing branch on January 16, 2022 met Area 22 chiefs and block leaders to strategize on security.

This meeting comes in barely three days after the attack of two business women who were coming from their businesses and following the attack one died as she was receiving treatment.

This forced friends of Area 22, led by Festone Chakani and legend groups to call for a meeting.

Speaking during the meeting, Inspector Thoko Mkwezalamba pointed out various tips to be embraced so that security in the area is revived.

Introduction of Community Policing forums was one of the backbone message.

Population density for the area can not receive maxmum security from police alone hence the need to embrace community policing forum concept at all levels” Mkwezalamba lamented.

Further she stressed that Community Policing forums are like mosquito nets, that are set to prevent mosquito bites, so l urge you all to chose young men with good reputation to embark on the journey of security provision.

Taking advantage of the meeting, Mkwezalamba warned residents on crossing swelling rivers so as to avert cases of drowning during this rainy season.

Felix Tsokonombwe the ward councilor for the area concurred with Mkwezalamba and urged Area 22 chiefs to have CPF urgently.

“It is our responsibility to have CPF in our areas and let them be trained by our police officers who are Eveready” said Tsokonombwe.

A promise has been made by Festone Chakani and Steve Mtalawanda leaders of friends of Area 22 to bring back the lost glory of the area by engaging young men to stand in the gap and join Police in providing security.
