Police in Kasungu have arrested an 18 year old girl for dumping her newly born baby girl in a toilet on Thursday morning.
Kasungu Police Deputy Public Relations Officer Miracle Mkozi confirmed the incident to our reporters
According to Mkozi the teenager never revealed that she was pregnant to everyone and she gave birth in the wee hours of Thursday around 4.
After giving birth she dumped the baby girl in the toilet.
The neighbour who went to help oneself in the toilet heard a baby crying inside the toilet. The good samaritan then informed people around the neighborhood.
Police rushed to the scene and they managed to rescue the baby.
The police publicist says they took the baby and her mother to Kasungu district hospital for treatment.
Mkozi highlighted that the baby is now in good condition.
