Karonga United FC, led by General Secretary Ramzy Simwaka, convened on January 8, 2024, for a pivotal session, strategically laying the foundation for the approaching football season.
The meeting revolved around three crucial agendas, commencing with an in-depth analysis of the technical panel’s report. Addressing the team’s lackluster 2023 performance, concerns were voiced regarding player quality and the repercussions of a late-season striker signing. Plans were disclosed to release players by January 15, 2024, enabling strategic new signings.
The financial report disclosed that Karonga United FC utilized K120 million in the 2023 season, with 2024 preparations estimating an expenditure of approximately K150 million. Notably, the club will undergo a commercialization overhaul in the upcoming season, led by legal advisor Hardrod Mkandawire.
In a bid to enhance community involvement and investment, Simwaka urged individuals to acquire shares in Karonga United FC. This innovative approach aims to revitalize the club, fostering a promising season supported by the community.
