IRL hails Lumbadzi Police

Irish Rule of Law (I.R.L) representative in Malawi Martha Piggot Phiri has hailed Lumbadzi Police Station for promoting rights of children in conflict with the law and adhering to the 48 hour rule to the suspected criminals. 

Piggot who is working with Central West Regional Victim Support Unit under IRL on Wednesday August 24, 2022 visited Lumbadzi Police Station in order to appreciate how children in conflict with the law and suspects in general are treated.

During her visit, Piggot was privileged to inspect registers of child suspects and Victim Support Unit of which she congratulated the station for maintaining it as required.

“Let me salute management and all officers for the job well done in adhering to 48 hour rule and keeping the cells in particular.  I will be visiting all police formations under Central West Region twice in a week with the aim of appreciating how children and adult suspects are being treated” said Piggot.
