Avant Publications has established that the latest employment regulations in the country stipulate that work permit fees, under the supervision of Hon Agnes Nyalonje’s as Minister of labour, will be effective from February 1.
These regulations apply to both small and large companies, as well as drivers of local and international vehicles.
According to confirmed reports in accordance with the new rules, daily wages have been revised from K1,923.08 to K3,461.54, with a monthly increase changed from K57,692 to K103,830 for those employed in relevant companies.
For those working in other companies, their daily wages have raised to K2,884.62, and domestic workers/maids will receive a daily wage of K2,000, amounting to K60,000 per month.
Furthermore, taxi drivers must earn a minimum of K100,500, while drivers of medium-sized vehicles should earn not less than K167,500, and those operating large vehicles internationally must earn a minimum of K234,500, as per the regulations.
