Lilongwe mourned the loss of one of its brightest stars as the Area 18 Cemetery became the venue for a somber farewell to Malawian music sensation, Victor, fondly known as Tremour. Tragedy struck when he was involved in a fatal motorcycle accident while returning from the studio one Saturday night, leaving the nation in shock and grief.
Earlier, at the Dzenza ground, a touching memorial service was held in honor of the young and talented musician. Fellow artists paid their respects with heartfelt renditions of Tremour’s songs, celebrating the legacy he left behind. Family members, politicians, and religious leaders shared moving speeches, recounting cherished memories of the beloved artist.
As the clock struck 2:45 pm, a procession of black hearses made its way to the cemetery, accompanied by a multitude of mourners dressed in black. Along the route, background musicians sang songs in remembrance of Tremour, capturing the emotional weight of the moment.
Upon reaching the cemetery, a sense of hushed sadness filled the air as the coffin was gently lowered into the ground. Thousands of people gathered, tears streaming down their faces, as they bid their final goodbyes to the talented young musician who left this world too soon.
Tremour’s mother and sisters were heartbroken, their grief palpable as they watched the coffin slowly descend into the grave. The pain of losing a beloved son and brother was unbearable, and their farewell was a poignant display of love and sorrow.
The choir’s voices swelled, singing hymns that echoed across the cemetery, creating an atmosphere of reverence and solace. As the pastors recited prayers and poured soil into the grave, the weight of the moment became even more profound.
Tremour’s sister’s anguished cry, “Why God, why have you taken my brother away?” reverberated through the crowd, reflecting the shared sense of loss and bewilderment.
As the burial ceremony concluded, wreathes were laid, and the cross was placed at Tremour’s final resting place, signifying the end of the solemn affair. The cemetery was a sea of grief as people embraced, seeking comfort in each other’s presence.
When the sun set on that sorrowful day, the mourners slowly departed, leaving Tremour to rest in eternal peace. His music and memory would forever live on in the hearts of those he touched, a testament to the profound impact he had on the lives of so many.
