Preparations are underway for the FAM National Women’s Championship finals, scheduled from Monday, April 22nd, to Sunday, April 28th, 2024, at Lilongwe’s Bingu National Stadium.
Lustica Gondwe, General Secretary of the National Women’s Football Association, assured spectators in an interview with Avant Sports Desk that everything is ready for the league’s national finals.
Gondwe emphasized that these finals will help discover hidden talents, which could be beneficial for the national team. Teams are eager to exhibit their skills on the big stage.
Sponsored by the Football Association of Malawi with a sponsorship of 79 million, covering both regional and national leagues, the national finals will feature teams like Silver Strikers Ladies, Civil Service Women, Ascent Academy, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Women, Moyale Sisters, Cy Sisters, MK Academy, Kukoma Ntopwa Women, and MDF Lioness.
The champions will walk away with K8 million, while the runners-up will receive K4 million. The third-place team will be awarded K2 million, and the fourth-place team will take home K1.5 million.
