As the countdown to the Salima Sugar Netball League national finals in Lilongwe continues, the Ekwendeni Resource Netball team is eagerly preparing to showcase their skills and spirit in the tournament, set to commence on October 27.
Coach Emily Kachali of the Ekwendeni Resource Netball team expressed her satisfaction with the intensive training sessions, assuring fans of an electrifying performance in Lilongwe.
Kachali also revealed her plans for a final team practice on Sunday, where all players would participate, including those who were previously unavailable. This last practice session will fine-tune the team’s readiness for the competition.
It’s noteworthy that Ekwendeni Resource Netball team is the reigning regional champions, having claimed victory in the 2023 Salima Sugar Netball League regional competition. Their regional success adds to the excitement as they prepare to compete on the national stage.
The Northern Region will be well-represented in the national finals, with both the Ekwendeni Resource Netball team and the Karonga Queens gearing up to exhibit their talent and commitment.
The Salima Sugar Netball League national finals will feature 12 teams from across the regions, thanks to a generous K40 million sponsorship. This high-stakes sporting event aims to uncover and celebrate the latent talents within these teams, further elevating the sport of netball.
