CWR Deputy Commissioner inspects newly contructed Police Unit

In a bid to bring police services closer to Biwi Artisan community, the Deputy Commissioner of Police for Central West Region, Mrs. Jacqueline Kainja has on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 inspected the newly constructed building to be a Police Unit under Kawale Police Station inorder to appreciate the structure and strategise deployment of Police Officers.

The DCP was welcomed by the Station Officer for Kawale, Superitendent Chrispine Dzintambira.

The Police Unit construction initiative was pioneered by Biwi light weight industry chair, Malani Gondwe who sought the services of police closer to them with an aim of fostering the vision of creating Biwi a 24-hour market.

The Unit, once operational, will bear the name Biwi Triangle Police unit which has been fully funded by the manager of Auto-lube panel beaters, Abdul Khada.

After the physical inspection, Kainja expressed gratitude at the structure, but advised the leaders present to fix furniture in it.

Kainja assured the skilled trade leaders that having seen the structure, she will inform relevant authorities for deployment of police officers once office chairs have been handed over.

Representing the team, the group’s chair, Malani Gondwe thanked the DCP for the timely visit which he said has brought direction and further promised to sort out the issue of office chairs the soonest.
