COURT REJECTS BUSHIRI’s REQUEST

The Lilongwe Chief Magistrate Court have today rejected Dr Shepherd Bushiri’s prayer to have his extradition case dismissed.

Prophet Shepherd Bushiri and his wife Mary Bushiri applied to the court to dismiss the extradition request by South African government.

Chief Resident Magistrate Madalitso has agreed with Bushiri that the documents in usage as evidence by South Africa were not duly authenticated hence may not be admissible.

The state have been directed to parade witness from South Africa on 10th October 2023.

Meanwhile, Bushiri followers and sympathisers are at the court giving support to their father.

State Lawyer Dzikondianthu Malunda says the ruling means that the only State witness from South Africa Sibongile Mzinyathi who is Director of Public Prosecution for Gauteng Province in that country will testify on 10th October, 2023.

“The Court has ruled in our favour and we are happy. We hope the case will continue without disruptions and that it will be determined on merits,” said Malunda.
