The first Semifinal of the Mzuzu FAM District Football League between Sonda United FC and Blue Sport FC concluded prematurely due to Blue Sport FC disputing the referee’s decision.
Blessings Nyirenda, serving as the center referee, awarded a penalty to Sonda United FC, a decision strongly contested by Blue Sport FC. The dispute escalated, resulting in Blue Sport FC assaulting the referee, ultimately leading to the match’s premature end.
The game concluded after 23 minutes in the first half, with Sonda United FC leading by a goal to nil.
Looking ahead, the second Semifinal of the Mzuzu FAM District Football League is set for tomorrow, January 14, 2024, at Botanic Ground, featuring Moyale Barracks Reserve against Dairy FCK Academy FC.
