President Dr Lazarus Chakwera has described Martha Chikuni as a Malawian who dedicated her life to the improvement of other people’s lives in the country.
Reverend Brian Kamwendo, Presidential Advisor on Religious Affairs, was delivering President Chakwera’s condolence message at the burial of Chikuni who until her death on Friday in Blantyre was Head of Marketing at State House.
Speaking on behalf of Vice President Dr Saulos Chilima and the UTM family, Minister of Energy, Newton Kambala, said Chikuni was one of the few who fought hard against the oppression of the DPP regime, and it is sad to lose her a year after Tonse Administration was ushered into power.
Maxwell Thyolera speaking on behalf of the Malawi Congress Party said Martha will be missed because of her zeal to serve Malawi.
State House representatives, chiefs, her family relations and those who spoke at the ceremony, said Martha was a charming lady who was always available to make a difference in serving others.
Family sources said the deceased died of stomach complications. She was born in January 1974.
