Chimwemwe Kapatuka, an accountant with the Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC), has scooped the top prize in the 2020 MBC Staff Performance Awards.
Kapatuka carted home a certificate, trophy, 20 percent of her monthly salary and K150,000 cash prize money.
She has attributed her success to teamwork and dedicates the trophy to her department.
” I don’t take this award for granted. To be an overall winner required even the support of my colleagues, my success stems from teamwork hence the dedication of the trophy to the accounts department,” said Kapatuka at a function held at Kwacha studios of MBC TV.
MBC’s Board Chairperson Reverend Vasco Kachipapa urged MBC staffers to serve the nation by executing their respective roles professionally.
“MBC is a national broadcaster. Strive to give the nation the best. Give no room for excuses and don’t let anyone use and dump you always work as a professional,” said Kachipapa.
Acting Director General Aidan Gumeni implored MBC staffers to appreciate the meaning of MBC Staff Awards saying,”the awards are meant to motivate and bring out the best in each employee.”
MBC has awarded best performing staff from all the four administrative regions of the country.
Other than Kapatuka the other winners include; Blessings Kanache, Andrew Chikusa, Thokozani Kamwanja and Raymond Kachulu.
