Police in Chikwawa are keeping in custody a man for murdering his own biological father.
According to Chikwawa station publicit Sergeant Dickson Matemb,the suspect has been identified as David Smart, 25, of Mthothola Village Traditional Authority Chapananga in Chikwawa District.
Smart has killed his father for accusing him that is the one who is bewitching him for not getting married.
It was in the evening of 30, July 2023 when Smart entered the house of his father and found him asleep and he hit him with a big stone and he died on the spot.
When the matter was reported to Gola Police unit Officers rushed to the scene in a company of medical personnel from Gola health centre and after conducting postmortem showed that death was caused due to loss of blood following the head injuries.
The suspect will be taken to court to answer a murder charge after Police investigations.
The decead Smart Zangado, 64,came from Mtothola Village Traditional Authority Chapananga in Chikwawa District.
