Mirriam Liwala, a 26 year old woman died yesterday at Songani trading centre in Zomba after she was hit by a Toyota Hiace minbus.
Zomba Police Public Relations Officer, Patricia Silipano confirmed the incident to Nyanja Online.
According to Silipano the Toyota Hiace belonging to Paseli was being driven by George Issa Masiyano.
Upon reaching Asum Mosque around Songani trading centre the driver hit Liwala who died on the spot.
Meanwhile the driver has been arrested and he will soon appear in court to answer charges of causing death by reckless driving.
Masiyano had 12 passengers on board during the time of the accident.
