MAN NABBED FOR STEALING K300,000 BY TRICK IN KAWALE

Police in Kawale township, Lilongwe have arrested a 32 – year-old  Chifuniro Andrew Banda for allegedly stealing cash amounting to K300,000 by tricking another.

The suspect who is a resident of Area 23 in the Capital City coaxed Joseph Chima and managed to get from him the said cash.

It is reported that the suspect approached Chima at Jenda trading center in Mzimba and disguised himself as a pastor of a certain church in area 23.

The suspect narrated that his church is offering for sale motorbikes on a cheaper price as one way of improving lives of the less privileged.

On June 5, 2022, the two agreed to meet in area 23 where the victim paid the cash waiting to get the motorcycle.

The complainant waited for Banda to bring him motorcycle but as time elapsed, he tried to call him on several times until he realized that his money has been stolen.

He reported the matter to Area 23 Police Unit for intervention.

Area 23 detectives acted on the matter and successfully arrested the suspect on June 18, 2022.

Banda will appear in court soon to  answer charge leveled against him.

Banda hails from Buona Village in the Area of Traditional Authority Wimbe in Kasungu District.
