The Human Rights Defenders Coalition (HRDC) is holding a media briefing in Lilongwe amid the revelations of the abuse of K6.2 billion Covid-19 funds in accordance with findings by the Auditor General’s report.
The Coalition is recommending for the complete overhaul of the Civil Service following the abuse of public funds.
HRDC says all companies that benefited from irregular procurement and mismanagement should be blacklisted from government contracts.
The Coalition says it is also surprised that the country’s security institutions (MDF and MPS) are missing in the forensic audit report despite being having clusters which were allocated funding.
