SOUTH AFRICA 17 000 confirmed COVID-19 cases in new record high

At the time of publishing, the global caseload stands at 82 739 879 as of Tuesday, 29 December 2020, along with 1 804 995 recorded deaths and 58 622 096 recoveries.

The USA has a caseload of 20 034 309 confirmed cases, along with 347 713 total deaths and 9 856 158 recoveries. Approximately 19 100 new cases were recorded over the last 24 hours.

Also in the top five is worst-affected countries is India with a caseload of 10 264 426 – and 259 549 active cases currently – while Brazil has a caseload of 7 577 890, Russia with 3 131 550 and France with 2 600 498.

The UK is quickly gaining ground, currenlty with a caseload of 2 432 888 confirmed cases and 72 548 deaths. While the recovery figures for the UK aren’t available, we do know that approximately 50 000 new cases were identified on Tuesday.
