VP INAUGURATES NEW NSIPE POLICE POST

The government of the People’s Republic of China has officially handed over Nsipe Police Post and five houses to the government Of Malawi through the vice president Dr Saulos Chilima.

The new state of the art police post in Ntcheu is expected to assist in the reduction of road accidents and crime rate in the District.

Chinese ambassador to Malawi Liu Hongyang said China is committed to assisting the Malawi government through various interventions. He expressed optimism that the facility will help to enhance security in the area.

“I have donated furniture, five motor bikes and a refrigerator for this facility” Liu said

And receiving the facility Chilima said the coming of the police station will enhance security in the area and also cushion the challenges mother station Ntcheu police has been facing.

He hailed the government of China for helping Malawi in various sectors. Chilima then assured for the continued cordial working relationship between Malawi and China.

Chilima also hailed the contractor for the standard and quality structures.

“This is your police and these officers are your relation, so take care of the structures” Said Chilima

Deputy Inspector General responsible for Administration, Merylin Yolamu hailed the support Chinese government renders to the service.

“This facility will help in promoting quality service delivery in the district and Malawi as a whole,” said Yolamu.

He also urged communities to assist in taking care of the facility.

Nsipe police post has been built in a space of six months and will be serving a population of about 80 thousand people from Traditional Authorities Kwataine, Makwangwala and Champiti in the district.-
