Health authorities are advising people who have recently recovered from Covid-19 to wait for at least 6 months before receiving the AstraZeneca vaccine.
Malawi is currently executing second stage of the first phase of the jab’s administration targeting the elderly, people with underlying health conditions, media practitioners and other social workers.
Since its rollout over two weeks ago, close to 40,000 people have already been vaccinated across the country.
However, avantmalawi has observed that officials at some vaccination centres are ignoring critical protocols including allowing recently recovered from Covid-19 to receive the jab.
But in her latest daily Covid-19 situation update, Health Minister Khumbize Chiponda emphasizes on the need for the public to follow relevant guidelines as they decide to receive the vaccine.
