Deputy Minister of Lands Honourable Abida Sidik Mia who is also Member of Parliament for Chikwawa Mkombezi constituency has disclosed that she has secured funds to construct a clinic at Nthondo catchment area in Nsanje central constituency.
Mia disclosed this at Nthondo football ground when she donated flour to hunger stricken people in the area.
According to Mia, once completed, the clinic will cater for a population of 4,000 people who are in the mountains of Nthondo.

“The people in this community currently people walk a very long distance to seek medical services to a nearest health facility and this project formed part of the social contract from myself as their leader in the Shire valley,said the industrious politician.
Mia continued “this project will not only reduce the high mortality rate in the area but will also go a long way in improving safe motherhood in my constituency,” said Mia.
Among others Mia has also disclosed to drill two boreholes in the area for the people to drink portable water.
She later held a mass rally at Phanga primary school in the area of Senior Chief Tengani in the district.
