FATSANI MOVIE SET FOR LOCAL DISTRIBUTION

HD Plus Makers of the Movie Fatsani have disclosed that the movie will finally get into people’s homes by Christmas.

Producer of the movie, Hastings Golosi, also known as Hago said this in Lilongwe as movie enthusiasts welcomed back actress in the movie, Hanna Sukali, who was in Nigeria.

Sukali went to attend the African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) held in Lagos after being nominated in the young actress category of the awards.

The event was held on 28 November 2021 where Sukali lost to Zimbabwe’s Wilma Munemera.

Speaking on arrival at Kamuzu International Airport (KIA) Sukali said the nomination itself has boosted her confidence and she is hoping to work with Wilma in near future.

Fatsani; a tale of survival that captures tribulations faced by young girls in Malawi has also been criticised by enthusiasts for its unavailability to Malawians.

But Hago says after the official screening they will take it to Malawians.

“We wanted to follow all the procedures of releasing a movie, much as we know that there is a growing desire from our fans to watch the movie. Am happy to say we are finally completing modalities of how the movie can get into people’s homes.” Said Hago.

Apart from the AMAA Nomination, the Movie has won an award for the best-directed movie in Southern Africa at Zambia’s Sutambe Film Festival since its screening on 30 April 2021. –
