Sonda United FC held a medal presentation for their players at Sonda Ground on Sunday, March 17th, 2024. The team wanted to celebrate their victory as champions of the Mzuzu District FAM league by honoring their players with medals.
During the ceremony, Sonda United FC played against Motokabisa FC from Nkhatabay and unfortunately lost 2-1. Despite the loss, the event was attended by esteemed guests, including Mapopa Mgemezulu, the chairperson of Mzuzu District Football Association, and Alphack Mkandawire, who were served as guests of honor.
After the ceremony, Samson Octobias Nyirenda, the chairman of Sonda United FC, explained that the event was a way to show appreciation to the people of Sonda. Nyirenda also expressed the team’s eagerness to participate in the Simso innobuild Northern Region Football League, stating that they are fully prepared and ready to impress.
