The National Beach Soccer Association has expressed confidence in a highly competitive zonal league season this year, FC following a significant sponsorship increase from the Football Association of Malawi (FAM). The funding has risen to K100 million, up from K70 million last year.

General Secretary Frank Chisambula made the announcement today, confirming that the 2025 Beach Soccer season will kick off this weekend at Chintheche in Nkhata Bay District.

Chisambula noted that the increased financial support from FAM will not only raise the level of competition but also offer national team selectors a broader platform to identify emerging talent across the zones.

Meanwhile, Francis Singini, General Secretary of the Nkhata Bay Beach Soccer Committee, said preparations for the launch event are at an advanced stage, with most logistical and technical arrangements already in place.

The launch match will feature last year’s National Beach Soccer Championship finalists, Beach Eagles (Nkhata Bay) and Tourism Salima, in a showdown at Flame Tree Lodge.

A total of 13 teams from Nkhata Bay have registered for this year’s tournament, promising a thrilling and action-packed season ahead.
