MZIMBA UNITED FC COACH STEVE NKUNIKA RESIGNS

By Vinjeru Ngwira

In a surprising twist, Steve Nkunika, the head coach of Mzimba United FC, has made the decision to resign from his position as the lead coach on the technical panel. Nkunika, recognized for his possession of a CAF C coaching license, had joined the team with the promise of a second season, following his impressive performance at KV FC. Regrettably, his departure is attributed to personal reasons, creating an unexpected void within the team.

Nkunika’s coaching prowess was showcased during his final game with Mzimba United FC against Ekwendeni United FC, culminating in an even 2-2 draw. Competing actively in the Simso INNOBUILD Northern football league and Castel Challenge cup, Mzimba United FC currently holds the 7th position in the league standings. Despite only securing a single point from two games, the team remains steadfast in their pursuit of improvement.

With the departure of Nkunika, the mantle of leadership now falls to Hannock Mwanza, who has been selected to guide the technical panel. The team’s ardent supporters eagerly anticipate the fresh strategies and direction that Mwanza, the newly appointed head, will bring to the table. As the season progresses, all eyes will be on Mzimba United FC to see how they adapt and flourish under this new leadership.
