MTOPWA FC CONCEDES ANOTHER DEFEAT

It never rains but pours for Mtopwa United Football Club (FC) following a second shameless defeat at Karonga Stadium by Karonga United FC in the Elite TNM Super League.

On Saturday, Chitipa United FC defeated Mtopwa FC in a 2 nill victory at the same stadium.

On Sunday however, Mtopwa FC started on a good note as Mphatso Magaleta netted the ball within 7 minutes of the first half of the game.

After 30 minutes, Karonga United’s Chrispin Mhangama equalized the game then later Thoko Harrison netted the ball and Hygiene Mwandepeka who has been crowned man of the match closed the score sheet by scoring third goal from about 40 metres distance.

Speaking in a post-match interview, Mtopwa FCs Coach Karen Chaula said the game was good but placed the blame on the referees and promised to work out for a better performance.

She said: “Today the game was good as we tried to create chances however to my side the way of officiating was bad because instead of referees officiating in a proper way, they kept favouring the host team.”

“However we have to focus and forge ahead and also work out to polish my players so that we can make it in future.”

In a separate post-match interview, Karonga Uniteds Coach Dan Dzinkambani described the game as hard.

“The game was hard since our opponents lost to Chitipa United yesterday and they were hard on us that they did not give us a chance to score but later our players were able to score three goals.” He said.

He has since thanked the supporters for proving great support to the team.

“I thank supporters for supporting us throughout the game and also the players for not giving up after Mtopwa scored first.” He said.

With the 3 to 1 victory against Mtopwa FC, Karonga United has scooped 3 points and moved to position 7 from position 9 while Mtopwa FC has moved from position 14 to position 15.
