The Independence Stadium witnessed her prowess on Saturday, December 30, as she found the net for the 10th time this season against Indeni Roses. On the 14th minute of the first half, Mkandawire’s precise strike set the tone for ZISD Women’s dominance.
Shortly after, Jane Kazila, ignited by a well-timed pass from Mkandawire, doubled the lead, concluding the first half with a 2-0 advantage for the home team. The visitors, however, managed to pull one back early in the second half, narrowing the scoreline to 2-1. Undeterred, Longowe Namisika of ZISD Women swiftly responded, securing a third goal and solidifying their lead at 3-1.
Hailing from Malawi, Mkandawire has not only showcased her goal-scoring prowess but has also proven to be a playmaker with 13 assists for ZISD Women. Her multifaceted contribution has been a key factor in the team’s success.
In the Super League standings, ZISD Women currently occupies the 6th position after playing 13 games and accumulating 23 points. At the summit of the log table stands Zesco Ndola Girls with an impressive 32 points from the same number of games, setting a competitive pace in the league.
