Kavuzi Hammers FC are the Champions of 2023 Mtengowaminga trophy after beating Chitheka United FC a goal to nil.

Hammers scored in 57 minutes of the second half through Jaiman Banda from a tap in.

The tournament was worthy K500 thousand in the last ended 2023 season.

The winner has pocketed K100 thousand while runners up have gone with K50,000.

The match was played on Thursday 6 July at Kautamba ground in the area of Group Village Headman (GVH) Kautamba, T/A Kabunduli in Nkhatabay district’s north-west constituency.

Being the last match, it was patronized by thousands of spectators from within and across the Nkhatabay North West constituency.

Speaking to the media Senior advocate Prince Chipela who was the organizer, said he was “much delighted to see many youths taking part in the initiative and promised to continue sponsoring such trophies to benefit communities.”

In his remarks GVH Mtengowaminga was very happy to see that tournament was successful since it started and more teams took part, a thing which united communities.

In his remarks, he “thanked the community for positive participation and T/A Kabunduli’s presence apart from being the guest of honor during the final match of the trophy.”
