Ekwendeni Resource Netball Team has triumphed in the Kwezy Busses Netball Bonanza, securing the championship title. The tournament, which unfolded over the weekend, showcased some of the best netball talent in the region.
Held from Saturday, September 7th to Sunday, September 8th, 2024, the event drew large crowds to Katoto Netball Court. The two-day bonanza captivated spectators with its competitive spirit and high-energy matches.
The competition featured 14 teams from six different netball districts across the Northern Region. The teams competed fiercely, but it was Ekwendeni Resource that emerged as the standout team of the tournament.
Supported by a K6 million sponsorship, the netball bonanza offered substantial prizes. Ekwendeni Resource clinched the championship with a decisive 12-5 win over Golden Balls, earning them a prize of K1 million.
Golden Balls, as the runners-up, received K800,000 for their efforts. Despite their loss in the final, they put up a commendable performance throughout the tournament.
Karonga Queens finished in third place and were awarded K600,000. Their strong showing added to the excitement and success of the Kwezy Busses Netball Bonanza, marking a memorable event for all involved.
