CAF UNLIST BINGU STADIUM

Bingu National Stadium has not met the qualifications to host games for the first and second preliminary rounds of the CAF interclub 2024/25, according to CAF’s pre-approved stadium list.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has banned Bingu National Stadium from hosting CAF Champions League matches due to its poor condition. This decision puts FCB Nyasa Big Bullets at risk of playing their CAF Champions League match against Red Arrows from Zambia away from home.

In a communication to all Member Associations, CAF stated that Bingu National Stadium has been excluded from the list of approved stadia for this year’s tournament. The list applies specifically to the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup.

This ban comes just one month before the Flames are set to host Burundi in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

The Football Association of Malawi has not yet commented on this development.
