Dr. Michael B. Usi who is the minister of Tourist, culture and Wildlife today had an interface meeting with Tourism Operators of Mulanje Mountain in an effort to discuss problems/challenges they are facing and how they wish the Government to intervine to mitigate such problems. The event which took place at KARA O’ MULA was patronized by all managing Directors and owners of Tourism entertise surrounding Mulanje Mountain.
Speaking at the event, Dr Michael Usi outlined all the strategic approach the Government and his ministry have put in place to revamp the ministry during and after the Covid 19 pandemic. Dr Usi edged all the Tourism operators to begin sell8ng Malawi as the major Package in attracting people. “Lets all operators compete and complement Government efforts in making sure we are selling a complete product”, Dr Usi said. Mulanje Tourism Operators must make sure it reposition its strategic approach in order to survive this pandemic.
Speaking at the function, owner and managing Director of Kara O Mula Mulanje commended the minister for the initiative which will empower them to be responsible and find best solutions to the current priblems. “After this meeting, we will begin our approach in engaging all stakeholders in an effort to raise their awareness. It is important that the minister have noted the challenges and have provided working solution, this is a good start.
Tourism Industry is one of the hardly hit with COVID 19 which has seen thousands to loose their Jobs affecting the Country’s economy. This is the third time for the Minister to engage players in Tourism industry after having the same meeting in Mangochi and Vipya.
