A Parliamentary Committee on Health has hinted that unless government deals with corrupt systems in the health sector, recapitalization of Central Medical stores Trust will be nothing but another conduit of abuse of tax payers money.
Committee Chairperson Mathews Ngwale has told avanti that access to essential medicines remain a challenge in the country attributing it to drug theft and pilferages.
Meanwhile, Vice Chairperson of Universal Health Coverage Coalition, Dingaan Mithi, says Central Medical stores Trust needs almost K30bn for recapitalization and has called on parliamentarians to enact laws that will help to deter corruption, drug theft and pilferages.
