POLICE RE-OPENS MPINGU POLICE UNIT

Mpingu Police Unit which was vandalised by an angry mob following the nullification of the 2019 presidential polls has been re-opened.

Stakeholders agreed that security is vital in creating a conducive environment for any business in the country.

Deputy Minister of Defence, Jean Sendeza, assured the business community to open their businesses in the area.

She said a place without security is not suitable for any business. She said the Constituency Development Fund will be used to furnish the police unit. She has since hailed Central Poultry for assisting in the rehabilitation of the police unit. she then urged the youth to always advance the Tonse Alliance development agenda.

Central West Division Police Commissioner Peter Chasweka also hailed Central Poultry for taking a role in supporting security enhancement in the country.

He said the facility is not for police officers but rather for the community and he urged for peaceful co-existence between the police and the community.

He said if the community has any grievances with the police there are right channels to be followed.

Taking his turn a representative of Central Poultry, Benson Chirwa, said the organisation is committed to assisting in the improvement of access to quality security services.

Traditional Authority M’bwatalika has assured the officers to be deployed at Mpingu Police Unit to work freely and professionally without fear or favour.
