Police in Kawale on Tuesday May 25,2021 invaded the streets and market places with crime preventive awareness messages.
This was done through a road show as one way of reducing the increase of crime in the area.
The station’s community policing service branch collaborated with Traffic and Criminal Investigation to share a variety of security tips to the community.
During the tour, Traffic Sub Inspector Clement Chiwanda tackled the issues of road safety measures to both motorcycle riders and motorists while Sergeant Gloria Maganga handled farm gate prices, murder, mob justice and suicide.
Traffic Sub Inspector Chiwanda exposed that reckless driving has contributed to an increase in accidents across Kawale roads.
“As a rider you need to put on a helmet and drivers should not drink and drive,” Chiwanda emphasised.
On her part, community Policing coordinator Inspector Thoko Mkwezalamba brought to light issues of gender based violence and crime preventive tips.
“This road show has been done with the sole purpose of taking on board everyone in Kawale and stand in a fight against crime so that at the end we all win in the fight against crime, “said Mkwezalamba.
