MCP IS HERE TO STAY; KUNKUYU SAYS CHAKWERA WILL SEEK RE-ELECTION

Presidential Advisor on Local Government and Traditional Leaders, Moses Kunkuyu has said President Lazarus Chakwera will seek re-election in 2025 inorder to wrap up his 10 year tenure as mandated by the constitution.

Kunkuyu revealed this yesterday during the celebration of Kamuzu Banda’s birthday which MCP southern region chapter held at Chirimba primary school ground in Blantyre.

The sentiments comes at a time UTM followers have hope that Chakwera might pave way for Chilima during the 2025 tripartite elections.

But Kunkuyu has blocked that thinking by clearly articulating that Chakwera will be their torchbearer.

“MCP is here to stay, Chakwera will stand again in 2025 because laws of the land allow him to do so,” Said Kunkuyu.

Kunkuyu added that he will tell president Chakwera to sweep all Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) individuals at National Economic Empowerment Fund (NEEF) and in other public institutions citing they are blocking the penetration of Chakwera’s agenda of developing this country.

The gathering was graced by Tonse alliance members from MCP, UTM and AFORD among others.
