When all hopes were gone and life became meaningless for the minor Gift Phiri (9 years) who hails from Mchengautuwa in Mzuzu, few months ago avantmalawi caught up with this young talented boy who was the bread winner for the family by making charcoal burners.
Fast forward, on 24th April 2021. Katawa CCAP family in Mzuzu extended their heart of giving in practice as they assisted the family of Gift Phiri with groceries worth K300,000 and cash of about K35,000.
Our reporter, Vinjeru Ngwira notice awe in the eyes of Gift Phiri’s family when they received blankets, bag of maize, bale of sugar, soya pieces, cooking oil, soap, clothes and many more.
It was a memorable day, worth cherishing to the family full of joy and ululation. In her remarks, Gift Phiri’s granny said, “It is only God who is to bless Katawa CCAP family as they have come in rescue at the 90th minute of their misery”.

Daniel Nkhata who led the delegation challenged and encouraged Gift to work hard at school and see what the Lord has planned for him. Nkhata believes the spirit of giving is also God’s calling as we invest into His kingdom. He urged Gift to come open whenever he is in lack for timely assistance.
