Since the introduction of Kawale traffic wardens in February 2021, the wardens have been operating without working equipment.
On March 18, 2021 Kawale Police took a turn to decorate them with reflective vests in a glamorous event that took place at Kawale Police which attracted the presence of traffic wardens from bus terminals of Area 24 (ZBS), Chipasula and Area 23 .
Speaking during the event, the Station Officer, Superintendent Agrey Khonje who represented the Officer In-Charge of Kawale cited that he was grateful with the wardens for accepting the noble task and further promised them to support them when need arise.

The Station Traffic Officer (STO), Assistant Superintendent Rodwell Kansikili tipped the wardens on how they should be conducting their duties.
“We came in to give you these reflective vests because we have seen you for the past weeks operating without putting on these reflectors,” said Kansikili.
So these reflectors will help you to be seen from far by motorists and easily identified, therefore I urge you to put on these vests whenever you are doing your duty,” emphasized Kansikili.
Taking advantage of the meeting, Kawale Community Policing Coordinator, Inspector Thoko Mkwezalamba highlighted security tips.
