UTM Member of Parliament for Chikwawa West, Hon Susan Dossi has rewarded 30 students that have been selected to various national secondary schools from her constituency. Dossi has given the students a start up package to support them as they start their secondary school life. The package includes luggage bags, school bags, writing materials, clothes, shoes and pocket money
These were handed over to the students at an event partronized by various people in the constituency including the childrens parents, chiefs and village headmen which have put smiles on parents of these students who were facing challenges on how to raise finances and support thier children as most of them could not afford it.
Speaking at the ceremony, Hon Susan Dossi said she is glad that in her constituency there are hard working students whose and achievements are making her constituency stand out in sending students to both national and district secondary schools. “I will continue to reward these students and I see potential in them. I am sure the next time I will reward them when they are going to university” Dossi said. “I have encouraged them especially the girls to work hard in secondary school and come out with good grades each year so that they can go to university and help to develop this constituency” Dossi continued.
Speaking at the ceremony, the parents representative said she is thankful to Hon Susan Dossi because most of the parents cannot afford to give the children the things she has given them. “Our children are motivated, thank you Hon Dossi, we will continue to pray for you so that you can continue to do the work you are doing here in Chikwawa west” the parent representative said. She continued to say they are glad Hon Dossi is aware of the problems that parents are facing in the constituency citing that some of them made up their mind that the children will stay home due to lack of funds to support them in their secondary school education.
